Ampem Darkoa Ladies suffered heartbreak upon losing to Sporting Casablanca on Wednesday in the CAF Women’s Champions League semifinals.

The Moroccan team that the Ghana Women’s Premier League champions drew 2-2 with in regulation and extra time ultimately lost on penalties.

In just six minutes, Comfort Yeboah gave Ampem Darkoa the lead when she scored from the penalty spot after they had been awarded one.

But just before the half, Yeboah’s own goal turned her from hero to villain as Sporting Casablanca regained the equalizer.

However, Ampem Darkoa would lead by a narrow margin at the halftime interval after Jennifer Owusuaa’s daring strike from outside the box.

However, the Moroccan team would come back stronger, with Agueicha Diarra scoring a penalty kick to make it 2-2 this time.

The game went into penalties despite both teams’ late-game opportunities to win, as neither could find the back of the net.
