Nana Akomea ‘kills’ Alan’s campaign strategy against Bawumia

It has been refuted by Nana Akomea, Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation (STC), that the Presidency and Vice Presidency are one and the same ticket.

He contended that the fact that Vice Presidents John Atta Mills and John Mahama were chosen twice by Ghanaians to hold the nation’s highest office as president refutes this claim.

In response to Alan Kyerematen’s claims that the presidency and vice presidency are one and the same ticket, Nana Akomea spoke.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, according to the former Minister of Trade and Industry, has done everything he could do and has nothing new to offer Ghanaians in the next four years.

He asked what novel ideas Ghanaians are getting from NDC and NPP presidential candidates, John Mahama and Bawumia, respectively.

On the other hand, Nana Akomea cited additional historical instances in which the current presidents of Kenya, Tanzania, and the United States had held vice presidential positions.

Mr. Akomea said, “Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria also served earlier as Vice President of Nigeria before being elected president, among several other examples in history.”

He went on to say that his claim could not be true because even NPP delegates cast a sizable majority of ballots in favor of Vice President Bawumia over President Akufo-Addo in the 2023 primary, which featured competitors like Alan Kyerematen.

Because the Ghanaian electorate will be interested in Dr. Bawumia’s core message, Nana Akomea urged Alan Kyerematen to focus on it rather than disparaging him.

He revealed that Vice President Bawumia will shortly present to the country a clear platform and set of steps that will establish his candidacy and help him win in December 2024.

It is noteworthy that Mr. Alan Kyerematen resigned from the NPP in September of last year, citing a number of reasons, including unfair treatment and intimidation of supporters, after finishing third in the party’s conference of super delegates.

Later on, he expressed interest in running as an independent for president in the 2024 election.
