Bio: David Cameron’s Personal Life
David Cameron was born on October 9, 1966, in London, England. He is the eldest son of Ian Donald Cameron, a stockbroker, and Mary Fleur Mount, a justice of the peace. He has three younger siblings: Alexander, Rachel, and Emily.
Cameron was educated at Eton College and Brasenose College, Oxford, where he studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics. After graduating from Oxford, he worked as a special adviser to Norman Lamont, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and also then as director of corporate affairs at Carlton Communications.
In 1997, Cameron was elected to Parliament as the Conservative MP for Witney. He served in the Shadow Cabinet under William Hague and Iain Duncan Smith, and also in 2005 was elected Leader of the Conservative Party.
Cameron also led the Conservative Party to victory in the 2010 general election, and became Prime Minister in coalition with the Liberal Democrats. He was re-elected Prime Minister in 2015, with an overall majority.
Cameron resigned as Prime Minister in 2016, following the UK’s vote to leave the European Union.
