National Democratic Congress (NDC), says that Founder and leader of Movement for Change and independent candidate, Alan Kyerematen is confident of winning the 2024 presidential elections becauseSpeaking in an interview on GHOneTV, Mr. Malik Basintale claimed that Alan Kyerematen is preaching hope because he doesn’t see the Vice President becoming the president of Ghana.
According to him, Alan Kyerematen has known Dr. Bawumia and has always said the current economy mess must be hanged on him and President Nana Akufo-Addo.
The NDC Deputy National Communication Officer also asserted that he’s happy Kennedy Agyapong has publicly confessed that there is no way, Dr. Bawumia can defeat former president, John Mahama in the upcoming 2024 presidential polls.
Kennedy Agyapong never congratulated Dr. Bawumia after he lost to him and still sees himself leading the party to the 2024 elections.

Meanwhile, in the same interview, Mr. Basintale claimed that Kennedy Agyapong never congratulated the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on his selection as the new NPP flagbearer after the NPP presidential primary.
Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia won 61.47% of the vote (118,210 votes) in the NPP presidential primary. The nearest competitor, Agyapong, received 37.41% of the vote (71,996 votes).
According to Malik Basintale, Kennedy Agyapong had the opportunity to congratulate Dr. Bawumia after mounting the podium to give his speech after the NPP primaries but never did.
He said that the Member of Parliament for Assin Central rather congratulated the his supporters, police personnel, the party executives and even the watchmen who took care of the congress.
He claimed that Ken Agyapong did not even in a single time mentioned Dr. Bawumia’s name in his speech after the NPP presidential primaries.
“Kennedy Agyapong mounted the podium, he had the opportunity to congratulate Dr. Bawumia, he never did. He congratulated the police, the elections committee, the EC, he congratulated even the watchmen who took care of the congress, but the man who had defeated him, he refused to congratulate him, he never did,” Mr. Basintale said.
