One of Ghana’s top universities, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has announced that, following a four-year break, it will resume in-person graduation ceremonies.
This is a big step forward for the university, which had to temporarily halt its customary graduation ceremonies in 2019 because of unanticipated events like the global COVID-19 pandemic.
KNUST was forced to adjust to alternate virtual graduation celebration methods in light of these exceptional circumstances, such as the Zoom platform.
But KNUST has now made public its intentions to bring back the beloved custom of live graduation ceremonies, which will start for the current class of final year students.
The dates of the in-person graduation ceremonies are set for November 27, 2023, through December 2, 2023.
Graduating students have a special opportunity to get ready for their farewell ceremony during this period.
The special recognition offered to students who have excelled academically and achieved a Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA) of 70 and above is one especially noteworthy feature of this year’s graduation ceremony.
These accomplished alumni will have the privilege of meeting with His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Chancellor of KNUST.
They will be able to shake hands, give hugs, and take priceless pictures with the Chancellor during this once-in-a-lifetime chance, making enduring memories they will treasure forever.
The university community is humming with excitement and anticipation as KNUST gets ready to bring back this venerable tradition.
