Cat Deeley is a British television presenter, actress, and model. She was born on October 23, 1976, in Stoke-on-Trent, England. She is best known for hosting the reality television shows American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.

Early Life
Deeley grew up in Sutton Coldfield, England. She attended Grove Vale Junior School and Dartmouth High School, where she played the clarinet in the Sandwell Youth Concert Band. She then joined Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School in Sutton Coldfield.
Career
Deeley began her career as a model in the early 1990s. She was signed by Storm Model Management and appeared in campaigns for brands such as Levi’s and Coca-Cola. In 1998, she began hosting the children’s programme SMTV Live on MTV. She also hosted the spin-off chart show CD:UK.
In 2002, Deeley became the host of Fame Academy, a reality television show in which contestants competed to win a record deal. The show was a huge success and Deeley became a household name in the UK.
In 2003, Deeley moved to the United States to host the third season of American Idol. The show was an even bigger success than Fame Academy and Deeley quickly became one of the most popular television presenters in the US. She hosted American Idol for six seasons, until 2009.
