Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president and party flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), paid the National Executives and staff at the Party headquarters a courtesy call on Wednesday.
His purpose for visiting was to formally meet with the Party’s national leadership after he was chosen to be the NPP’s flag bearer on November 4, 2023.
In his welcome speech, the Party’s general secretary, Mr. Justin Kodua Frimpong, commended Dr. Bawumia and his group for their timely visit to the Party headquarters in spite of the challenging circumstances surrounding the recently concluded flagbearership campaign. He also gave the assurance that the Party’s leadership would collaborate with all relevant parties to ensure a historic victory in 2024.
During his speech, Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude to the Party’s national leadership for the cordial welcome and commended them for their sacrifices in organizing and conducting the Party’s presidential primaries, which were widely regarded as transparent, free, and equitable.
He promised to treat all parties involved, regardless of their class, religion, identity, or country of origin, as a father figure in his capacity as the Party’s leader.
In addition, Dr. Bawumia expressed his excitement about collaborating with all Party members and promised to promptly reach out to other candidates for the Party’s presidential primary.
In addition, Dr. Bawumia said that in his capacity as the Party’s leader, he would always be receptive to the thoughts, counsel, and recommendations of all parties involved in his efforts to inspire the Party’s grassroots members to support him in winning. He promised that his office would be open to all Party members and that it would work in tandem with the Party headquarters, which he described as the NPP’s engine.
The Party’s National Chairman, Mr. Stephen Ayesu Ntim, emphasized in a brief statement the importance of cooperation and unanimity among all Party members.
