According to Freddie Blay, the former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the party has a far superior record of handling the economy.

He said the government was doing a better job managing the economy.

Mr. Freddie Blay claims that compared to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the economy is in a better place.

He claims that despite the global economic crisis, the NPP has been able to carry out its social intervention programs.

Freddie Blay expressed hope that by 2024, Ghana’s economy would have recovered significantly.

“The economy in the hands of the NPP has been far better, irrespective of the challenges that we have faced. In terms of numbers and figures, and so forth, we have not slowed down in our social interventions,” he said.

“The decisions regarding NHIS, Free SHS, road construction, and all other initiatives we embarked on have not been stalled despite the events in Ukraine. We are adapting to the situation, and things are improving. Therefore, by 2024, the economy will show signs of improvement,” he told Accra-based Citi FM.

He continued by saying that the NPP doesn’t even evaluate itself against the NDC since, in his view, the latter has a spotty history.

Meanwhile, the newly elected flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has promised his unwavering dedication to serve and give back to the nation with every breath in his body.

Dr. Bawumia made this statement during his acceptance speech after winning the NPP presidential primaries on Saturday, November 4, 2023.

“Ghana has given me everything, every opportunity and grace. I have dedicated my life to give back, and to serve this wonderful country to the best of my ability, with every breath in my body.”

According to him, he has his own vision and priorities for Ghana and if he is given the opportunity to lead the nation, he shall govern with guidance from God Almighty.

He claimed that, his vision is to “build an inclusive, food self-sufficient, data-driven and systems based nation that will fully participate in the global digital revolution to solve our problems and also usher in a golden age of benefits from our natural resources.”
