The leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has pledged to stabilize the economy through economic growth that builds infrastructure and long-term jobs following the 2024 elections.

During a presentation of his manifesto to the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Mahama pledged to carry out pragmatic economic measures aimed at curbing public debt, tackling inflation, and restricting the central bank’s funding of the government via the Bank of Ghana.

He emphasized the necessity of stopping the current economic downturn and bringing stability back to the nation’s financial system.

Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to reducing the inflationary pressures that have eaten away at the earnings of working-class and Ghanaian citizens.

“There must be an end to this decline and the restoration of stability to the economy so that Ghanaian citizens and working people can breathe a sigh of relief and not have their already inadequate income eroded by inflationary pressures.

“In the last few years, I have been outlining policies that the NDC will implement, and the aim is to stop the steep decline in the economy, turn it around, and stabilise it,” he said.

He emphasized that, in comparison to what Ghanaians are currently experiencing under the NPP-led government, the NDC government performed extraordinarily well.

In other news, Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus Glover has stated that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NPP) are paranoid over selection of Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the new New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer.

Mr. Titus Glover speaking in a panel discussion on Adekye Nsroma on UTV, claimed that the ever since Dr. Bawumia was projected to succeed President Nana Akufo-Addo as the next presidential candidate to lead the NPP into 2024 polls, the NDC has never stop insulting and attacking the Vice President.

According to the former MP, he said NPP is bothered by the antics of the NDC against Dr. Bawumia ahead of the 2024 general elections, but everybody in the ruling party will rally behind the Vice President to defeat John Dramani Mahama.
