Mzbel, a veteran musician and businesswoman from Ghana, has made the decision to seek spiritual protection for her son Okomfo Black in the face of persistent criticism and attacks from her fellow countrymen.
Mzbel, who has been transparent about her Traditionalist views, asked spiritual leaders to offer prayers for her son’s protection.
Mzbel and her son were shown receiving prayers from spiritualists in a video posted to her Instagram page.
She wrote; “At this point I don’t know what to say… the attacks is gone beyond Social Media now, I needed this… Thank u Nana Okuoba, I’m speechless.”
These prayers were intended as a response to the criticism they had received from Christians for Okomfo Black’s public declaration of his doubt about God. After an interview that became widely popular on social media, Mzbel and her son came under public scrutiny.
Adepa had said in the aforementioned interview that he didn’t think God created humans, but rather that they were born by other humans.
He claims he does not recognize any supernatural human being creating him, only that his mother, Mzbel, brought him into the world.
She defended her son against the charges by saying that she doesn’t force her beliefs on other people.
“It is okay for us to be called fools just because we don’t believe in the existence of God. We are mocking anybody’s God. I can’t teach him how to compose himself when talking to elderly. I am only guiding the boy so that he can have confidence and confide in me when he has issues,” she said.
The 16 Years hitmaker further stated emphatically that they have not forced or disrespected anybody, they are just witnessing what they believe.
“What you know is okay, what we also know is okay, if it is not good he should come and deal with us, why do you want to attack us on behalf of Almighty God, who’s not your Almighty God?” Mzbel argued.
