New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong is optimistic of giving former president and NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama a showdown in the 2024 presidential elections.
The NPP is currently holding elections in all 275 of its constituencies nationwide to choose a presidential candidate.
Earlier on, InsightNewsgh.com reported that Ken Agyapong arrived at the Pentecost center at the Assin Fosu to cast his ballot in the ongoing presidential primaries.
After casting his vote, Kennedy Agyapong speaking to the media indicated that he’s the best candidate to defeat John Mahama if he wins the NPP presidential primaries.
According to him, Ghanaians are looking for a honest person to lead the country after trying politicians who are economist, lawyers and soldiers.
Kennedy Agyapong outlined some of his qualities he possesses that makes him unique and qualified to be given a chance to lead Ghana in 2024.
“If it’s Kennedy Agyapong, I’ll beat Mahama hands down no doubt about it. What Ghanaiansa re expecting is a bold, honest leader. The situation we are in, they have tried politicians who are layers, economists, soldiers and still Ghanaians feel it is not enough,” he said.

Previously, as we reported a video sighted on X (formerly Twitter) as shared by TV3, Kennedy Agyapong arrived at the voting center in the company of some of his campaign team members. He was ushered in to cast his ballot by some Ghana Police personnel.
More than 203,000 delegates—mostly local and national NPP executives—are taking part in the election to choose the party’s presidential nominee.
They have to select one candidate from the four vying to be the NPP’s leader going into the general elections in 2024.
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President, Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie, the former Agriculture Minister, and Francis Addai-Nimoh, the former MP for Mampong, are the contestants today.
The Vice President is expected to win, according to polls, but the other three candidates are also confident and upbeat about their prospects.
