Kent Johnson began his hockey career at a young age. He played minor hockey in his hometown of Port Moody, British Columbia. He then moved to the United States to play high school hockey at Shattuck-St. Mary’s, a prestigious hockey prep school.
After high school, Johnson enrolled at the University of Michigan. He played for the Michigan Wolverines for two seasons, from 2021 to 2023.
