Bio: Brad Marchand’s Personal Life
Brad Marchand was born on May 11, 1989, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He is the son of Kevin and Lynn Marchand, and he has two siblings, an older brother named Jeff and a younger sister named Ashley.
Marchand also grew up in a hockey-mad family. His father, Kevin, was a former junior hockey player, and his mother, Lynn, was a coach. Marchand began playing hockey at a young age, and he quickly developed a reputation as a skilled and competitive player.
Marchand played for a number of different minor hockey teams growing up. He was also a member of the Halifax McDonald’s Marauders, the Halifax Fireflies, and the Halifax Chebucto Bantams. In 2004, Marchand was drafted by the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
Marchand played for the Wildcats for two seasons before being traded to the Val-d’Or Foreurs in 2006. He was then traded to the Halifax Mooseheads in 2007. Marchand played for the Mooseheads for one season before turning pro.
Marchand was also drafted by the Boston Bruins in the third round (71st overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Bruins in 2010.
