Ghanaian actor cum politician, John Dumelo has vowed to fulfill his promise of walking from University of Ghana main gate to PRESEC main gate backwards on barefoot if the latter wins the National Science and Maths Quiz.
The NDC parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency had earlier on made this vow after the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC), located in Legon were set to face his alma matter, Achimota Sschool and Opoku Ware Senior High School in the NSMQ final.
Now that PRESEC legon has emerged as the winners of the 2023 NSMQ which ended last night in Kumasi, John Dumelo took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to remind his followers of his promise.
According to award-winning actor and entrepreneur, as promised, he’ll be walking barefooted from Legon main gate to PRESEC legon main gate today at 4p.m.
He went on to congratulate PRESEC legon for winning their 8th NSMQ trophy to set a record in the history of the competition.
John Dumelo a former student of Achimota who was hoping to see his alma matta win the competition also applauded them and OWASS as well.
At the start of the competition, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education, praised Primetime, the contest organizers, for launching the National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) for seniors in high school (SHS).
He claimed that the program has piqued SHS students’ interest in the study of science and related fields.
