Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has forewarned the party’s leadership prior to the flagbearer contest scheduled for November 4, 2023.
He related how some of Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten‘s supporters were attacked at various polling places, but that neither the Electoral Commission (EC) nor the police took any action and never detained the attackers after the polls.
Additionally, he issued a warning to the EC and the Police not to submit to intimidation by public servants during the flagbearer competition.
He said: “I am sending a nice caution to both the police personnel and the Electoral Commissions that they should not be pushed by any government officials or any Regional Chairman because if they push I will also push.”
“I swear to God if NPP leadership make any mistake during presidential primaries by intermediating or attacking my supporters I will be more than Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten,” at his showdown walk on the Cape Coast, the unconventional politician stated.
He stated: “If there will be no fairness and transparency during the presidential primaries, I can’t promise them but I will continue to give them showdown since NPP needs fairness to unite the party.”
He claimed the party tried to force him to drop out of the race by offering him a bribe of $800 million, but he refused the offer.
The Assin Central member of parliament claims that he turned down the lucrative offer because he loved Ghana and would never prioritize his personal interests over those of the country.
Mavis Hawa Koomson has declared that party delegates will not support Kennedy Agyapong.
She said Ken Agyapong shouldn’t expect party members to vote for him because the Assin Central Member of Parliament has attacked them in recent years.
He reminded Kennedy Agyapong of his previous remarks in which he called NPP members “fools” and called the party “foolish,” emphasizing that “he doesn’t know why he’s a member.”
