Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam Nartey George has sent a strong warning to President Nana Akufo-Addo and his NPP government for neglecting the cry of the residents his constituency over poor roads.
Sam George speaking to the media, the NDC MP revealed that the President and his government have turned death ears to their request to fix the Afiehya-Dawhenya road for the past seven years.
Sam George also disclosed that the Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr. Kwasi Amoako-Attah has literally given up because he can’t figure where the delay is coming from.
The MP added that the company which has been awarded the contract to fix the Dawhenya road has abandoned work since 2016.
“The people of Afiehya and Ningo-Prampram also deserve good roads. May I need to organize my people and let me serve this notice to Mr. President that the next time he’s going to Akosombo, I’ll block you in Afiehya or the next time you’re going to Volta, I’ll block you in Dawhenya and make you walk on this road to see. We also pay taxes, we have begged them for seven years, what crime have we committed,” he said.

Relatedly, Yaw Asani Tano, has charged the Minister of Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Attah to focus on his mandate and stop dragging people to the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO).
Speaking during a panel discussion on UTV Adekye Nsroma, Mr. Yaw Tano urged the Roads and Highways Minister to fix the deplorable roads in the country which are causing vehicular traffic and road accidents.
The National Organizer of LPG made this comments after Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Attah asked the EOCO to launch a thorough investigation into claims of corruption in the awarding of road contracts by Prof. Stephen Adei.
Prof. Adei asserted in the interview with TV3, which was aired on Friday, October 20, 2023, that applicants for road contracts are required to make a GH1 million up-front payment.
