Mavis Hawa Koomson, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) member of parliament for Awutu Senya East, has declared that party delegates will not support Kennedy Agyapong.

He said he shouldn’t expect party members to vote for him because the Assin Central Member of Parliament has attacked them in recent years.

Hawa Koomson, the Minister for Fisheries, addressed NPP delegates in the Central Region over the weekend.

He reminded Kennedy Agyapong of his previous remarks in which he called NPP members “fools” and called the party “foolish,” emphasizing that “he doesn’t know why he’s a member.”

You say NPP members are fools and you don’t know why you belong to a foolish party like the NPP. Today, you want those you called fools to vote for you as a flagbearer”, Hawa Koomson fired at Kennedy Agyapong.

Kennedy’s public attacks and disparaging remarks about the NPP and the government were further exposed by the Fisheries Minister, who urged the delegates to vote against him for showing disdain for them.

“You say NPP lost the election 2 years ago, so why do you want to lead a party that you claim lost 2 years ago? What message are you going to tell Ghanaians to return the party?” Hawa Koomson questioned.

“You say NPP people are thieves and you want to lead the party whose members you say are thieves? Is it not the same thieves you will work with?” she further asked the Assin Central MP and presidential aspirant.

Meanwhile, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has claimed that he was given a huge amount of $800million to resign from the November 4 presidential elections.

Kennedy Agyapong was speaking in an interview on Kumasi-bsaed Time FM, when he refused that claims of requesting for $500milion to step down from the NPP presidential race.

According to him, he was rather offered $800million from one of the camp of the NPP presidential aspirants to drop from the November 4 polls but he rejected.

On Saturday, November 4, the NPP will cast ballots to choose a new flagbearer.
