Communications manager of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), Stanley Martey has revealed some of the challenges that hinder them from supplying water to Ghanaians.
Speaking in an interview on UTV Mpu Ne Mpu, Stanley Martey divulged that sometimes they experience pressure and also power outages interrupt the process of treating water.
According to him, when they face these issues it takes close to 6 hours for GWCL to recharged their lines before they are able to supply water to Ghanaians.
He admitted there are challenges in the system, especially between GWCL, stakeholders and Electricity Company of Ghana.
When asked if the GWCL has been able to settle off their debt with ECG, Mr. Stanley Martey revealed that they have a cordial relationship in terms of how they settle their debt with ECG.
According to him, the two companies owe each other and so they always find a way to settle their differences.
He recounted how ECG stormed their office to demand their money when they were struggling to settle off their debt with IPPE’s.

He revealed that GWCL expenditure is more than income and this is the reason why they always end up owing others.
The man who represented the Nogokpo Traditional leaders in the contentious conflict with Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, Nufialagah Mawufemor Kobla Nornyigbey, has stated that the chiefs accepted bribes from the National Peace Council to put the issue to rest. He also stated that he was offered $100,000 but turned it down.
He made these and other serious accusations in an interview that aired on Gerom TV’s Mama Grace show.
He expresses his disappointment in the traditional leaders of Nogokpo for selling their consciences for money in a segment of the interview that was posted to YouTube.
“The way we wanted to handle this Agyinasare-Nokogpo issue, trust me, Nogokpo would have been a heaven where investors and a lot of people would have flocked with various opportunities,” he revealed.
