Cam Thomas began playing hockey at a young age. He played minor hockey in Mississauga, Ontario, and was selected to play for the Canada men’s national under-17 ice hockey team at the 2017 World U-17 Hockey Challenge. Thomas also helped Canada win a gold medal at the tournament and was named to the All-Star Team.
In 2017, Thomas was also drafted by the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He played for the Knights for two seasons, and was named to the OHL First Team All-Star in 2019. Thomas was also the leading scorer in the OHL in 2019, with 50 goals and 42 assists.
Thomas was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the second round, 47th overall, of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in 2020, and has played for the Senators ever since. Thomas is a skilled and versatile forward who is expected to be a key player for the Senators in the years to come.
