Clint Eastwood was born on May 31, 1930, in San Francisco, California. He is the son of Clinton Eastwood Sr., a manufacturing executive, and Ruth Wood (née Runner), a housewife. Eastwood has a younger sister, Jeanne Bernhardt.
Eastwood’s family moved frequently during his childhood, and he attended eight different schools in eleven years. He graduated from Piedmont High School in 1949.
After high school, Eastwood worked as a lumberjack, steelworker, and gas station attendant. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
