In order to finalize the plans for the repatriation of the body of the late former Youth and Sports Minister, Enoch Teye Mensah, also known as E. T. Mensah, a delegation made up of prominent NDC members is currently in South Africa.
On Sunday, October 1, 2023, E.T. Mensah, a representative of Ghana’s Council of State, passed away while receiving medical care in South Africa.
Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo, a former Greater Accra Regional Minister and former Member of Parliament for the Kpone-Katamanso Constituency, led the delegation that was there to represent the NDC.
When they arrived in South Africa, the NDC South African Chapter, under the direction of Benjamin Kofi Quashie and other chapter executives and members, welcomed them and expressed their sympathies. Since E.T. Mensah’s passing, the chapter has been collaborating closely with the family and the party.
On Tuesday, October 10, E.T. Mensah’s body is anticipated to be flown back to Ghana. The body of this eminent Ghanaian will be received at the Kotoka International Airport by Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo, and members of the Council of State.
Former politician and minister of youth and sports E.T. Mensah passed away at age 77 after a protracted illness.
Many people have expressed their condolences and well wishes to the late politician’s family and party.
Just last week, Felix Owusu-Adjapong, a former majority leader who served as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) representative for Akyem Swedru in the Eastern Region, passed away at the age of 79.
On October 4, 2023, Majority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh posted on social media to confirm the sad news and to offer his condolences and tribute to Owusu-Adjapong.
His death’s circumstances, however, are still unknown.
Felix Owusu-Adjapong, who was born on February 13, 1944, had a illustrious political career, serving in Ghana’s second, third, and fourth parliaments.
In the general elections of 1996, he won 45.30% of the valid votes cast, becoming the first representative for Akyem Swedru.
