Five constituencies will hold parliamentary primaries between October 28 and October 31, 2023, according to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Gomoa Central (Central region), Amenfi East, Tarkwa Nsuaem, Evalue Ajomoro Gwira (Western region), and Akontombra (Western North region) are places where the polls will hold

This information was provided by the regional secretary, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, in a letter that was published on Saturday.

“Regional Chairmen are entreated to put in place the necessary mechanisms for the smooth holding of the primaries and revert to us where there are challenges,”

The expected dates for nominations are Friday, October 6, and Saturday, October 7, 2023; form submission would take place from Tuesday, October 10, to Wednesday, October 11, 2023; vetting would take place on Saturday, October 14, 2023; and appeal would take place on October 16, 2023.

Because of the final funeral rites for the late Ga Manye, the primary for the Odododiodioo constituency in Accra will take place on October 31, 2023.

In other news, Kennedy Agyapong has said that if elected president of Ghana, he would give politicians who may have been embezzling public funds a six-month grace period to return them.

The candidate for the presidency of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the 2024 elections, a member of parliament for the Assin Central constituency, claims he would use the same strategy as former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari to recover stolen public funds from former appointees.

He declared on his X page that any former government appointee who is found to have stolen public funds after the six-month grace period will be subject to the full force of the law.

“To be honest, my approach will be Buhari’s own. Anybody who feels that he has stolen Ghana’s money should bring it We will give you 6 months, and if we find you, you will face the law,” Agyapong wrote on Friday, October 6, 2023.

Agyapong, the representative for Assin Central in parliament, has urged young men to stop dating multiple women.
