Flagbearer candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP),Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has accused his party of forcing Members of Parliament of the ruling government to vote for one presidential aspirant.

In a Starr Chat interview with Bola Ray sighted by InsightNewsgh.com, Kennedy Agyapong claimed that most NPP MPs have told him privately they want to support him but they have threatened by party executives to support a particular aspirant.

According to him, NPP executives have threatened to ditch any MP who publicly supports him to become the next presidential candidate to lead the ruling party.

He added that Akim Oda MP supported him and he threatened by the NPP executives that his constituency marlet would not be built.

“The MP for Akim Oda supported me and he was threatened that the market in his constituency would not be constructed. They (NPP) are forcing everyone to support one aspirant. I am not afraid, I will tell you, that’s how bad the situation is.” Kennedy Agyapong said.

He continued, “They are threatening a lot of MPs that if you don’t follow one person, they are going to bring someone to contest you and all of them are afraid but I am not.”

The MP for Assin Central also threatened to deal with all the MPs he has helped but have refused to support him in bid to become the next NPP presidential flagbearer after November 4 elections.

During the same interview, Ken Agyapong apologized to former president John Mahama.

The controversial lawmaker claimed that he had not treated the former President fairly in a Starr Chat interview.

“The way he has handled me and how I have spoken harshly to John Mahama, I think have not been fair to Mahama. He is such a wonderful man.

“I apologize, I am a human being. I think I recount my relationship with him and all that I want to say I am sorry,” he stated.
