Kennedy Agyapong, a flag-bearer candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has apologized to former president John Mahama.
The Assin Central lawmaker claimed that he had not treated the former President fairly in a Starr Chat interview.
“The way he has handled me and how I have spoken harshly to John Mahama, I think have not been fair to Mahama. He is such a wonderful man.
“I apologize, I am a human being. I think I recount my relationship with him and all that I want to say I am sorry,” he stated.

Mr. Agyapong went on to say that he gets along well with the former first family, particularly the ex-president Mahama’s wife.
The former administration headed by Mr. Mahama received harsh criticism from the MP for Assin Central.
He was a major factor in the 2016 general elections that resulted in the overthrow of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
Meanwhile, NPP communicator, Jennifer Queen has revealed that current ongoing brouhaha in the party won’t have any impact on their plans to break the ‘8’ in the upcoming 2024 elections.
According to her, once they are done with the presidential primaries on November 4, every issue will be nothing to talk about again.
“You may see it as division in our party, but there’s nothing like. Anytime there are issues like this, we come together as united front and we win power. Usually these things bring us together to fight for power and we win at the end,” she said.
Jennifer Queen added that the controversies are trending all over the internet because of the influence of social media and the fact that journalists have taken key interest in them.
On Saturday, November 4, the NPP is expected to choose its 2024 presidential flagbearer between Ken Agyapong and Vice President Bawumia.
