Prophet Kofi Oduro, the Founder and leader of Alabaster International Ministries, has gone berserk on President Nana Akufo-Addo’s led NPP government after his programme on United Television was cancelled.

This comes after the NPP leadership requested a reform of the Despite Media Group’s prime time entertainment program, United Showbiz, in a letter to them.

The UTV panel on the show has consistently criticized the government, raising questions about the show’s motivations and inspiring the call for reform, the party expressed concern.

In a recent video sighted on Twitter, Prophet Oduro was preaching in his church when he accused the NPP government of influencing the Fadda Dickson and UTV to remove his lunch time preaching slot dubbed “Daakwa Nsem.”

He alleged that he was surprise to see his preaching programme replace with movies because of his constant criticisms of President Akufo-Addo and his administration.

Prophet Oduro also revealed that a gentleman from Movement TV, privately owned by NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, Chairman Wontumi, came to him and offered him a preaching slot but requested that he stopped criticizing the government in his sermons.

In his own words, he said: “I was shock that a letter was written from the current government to UTV, telling them to reform their programmes. You’re determining to a private station who you like and who you don’t like. No wonder “Daakwa Nsem” has been removed on Thursdays afternoon. Somebody can be sitting at home and be making instructions, I don’t this guy, I don’t like this guy, and they replace it with movies.”

Prophet Oduro continued, “My team was trying to get new contract and a guy from Movement TV and said we love you to come on our network but please never speak against Akufo-Addo and the government.”

Relatedly, the NPP’s letter to UTV received harsh criticism from Kwame A-Plus, who deems it to be without foundation.

He expressed serious concerns about the letter’s appropriateness and content, implying that it represents an effort to curtail press freedom and exert control over editorial viewpoints and media content.

A-Plus was upset with the party for attempting to undermine a constitutional clause pertaining to media independence.
