Ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator, Jennifer Queen has stated that the party will be distracted by current ongoing controversies following Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen’s resignation.
After former NPP presidential hopeful resigned to form the Movement for Change party to contest as an Independent candidate, Chairman Wontumi’s ordered the constituency chairmen in the Region to have Alan Kyerematen’s posters and memorabilia removed from offices as a result of his resignation from the NPP sparked the argument between these two party members.
Chairman Wontumi was reprimanded by Mr. Alan Kyerematen for the order, and he revealed that it was he who had introduced him to mainstream NPP politics.
However, Chairman Wontumi made it clear that the late Dr. Amoako Tuffuor was the one who welcomed him into the NPP, not Alan Kyerematen.
Not long after, Kennedy Agyapong, a presidential aspirant and Wontumi has engaged in a ‘dog fight,’ as both parties have threatened to get each other arrested.
However, speaking in an interview on Adekye Nsroma show on UTV, Jennifer Queen revealed that current ongoing brouhaha in the party won’t have any impact on their plans to break the ‘8’ in the upcoming 2024 elections.
According to her, once they are done with the presidential primaries on November 4, every issue will be nothing to talk about again.
“You may see it as division in our party, but there’s nothing like. Anytime there are issues like this, we come together as united front and we win power. Usually these things bring us together to fight for power and we win at the end,” she said.
Jennifer Queen added that the controversies are trending all over the internet because of the influence of social media and the fact that journalists have taken key interest in them.
