Jackson chose to attend Maryland, where he played for the Terrapins from 2014 to 2017. In his career at Maryland, Jackson recorded 127 tackles, 36 pass deflections, and 14 interceptions. He was a two-time first-team All-Big Ten Conference selection and was named a consensus All-American in 2017.
Jackson was undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft, but signed with the New England Patriots as a free agent. He made his NFL debut in Week 1 of the 2018 season against the Houston Texans. Jackson played in all 16 games for the Patriots in his rookie season, recording 27 tackles and two interceptions.
