After being baptized, former Ghanaian international Kevin-Prince Boateng professed his faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

The 36-year-old, who was baptized in Germany, identified Jesus as the only true and living path on social media.

Kevin-Prince Boateng posted a message on Instagram along with images from his baptism, Revelation 3:20 – And It’s up to US to open the Door or not. JESUS is The way, The truth and The life,”

After a nearly two-decade-long career, Boateng announced his retirement from professional football in August.

Boateng provided an explanation of his decision to pursue a career in football in a video reel that was posted on his Instagram page to confirm hanging his boots.

“You become a criminal or you play football, so I choose to play football,” the former Barcelona and AC Milan star said.

“I was always special from the first moment and I knew it. I was my biggest rival all the time. There’s no one else who can be my rival.

“Because no one is like me, no one thinks like me, no one has emotions like me. It’s just me and myself. I had to learn that as well, talent is nothing without hard work.”

He eventually played for some of the top clubs in Europe, including Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, and AC Milan, despite coming from a modest background.

Prior to making one final appearance for Hertha Berlin, he was also on the rosters of AC Milan, Schalke O4, Barcelona, Fiorentina, and Monza.

Boateng also had a career filled with victories, taking home the Serie A, Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana, DFB Pokal, and La Liga trophies.

Kevin-Prince Boateng participated in both the 2010 and 2014 World Cups for Ghana, earning a total of 15 caps and contributing two goals.
