Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, a candidate for president, claims that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia‘s campaign team and vice president attempted to buy his vote in accepting an offer to serve as Dr. Bawumia’s running mate.

The Assin Central MP asserted that he had declined the offer. He made these claims while campaigning in the Ashanti Region and speaking to his supporters at Jubilee Park.

Mr. Agyapong thinks that Dr. Bawumia’s activities and other commitments could be harmful to the party.

The Vice President and his team were intimidating party members who did not support him, the NPP flagbearer candidate stressed.

Residents of the Ashanti region came out in force to support Kennedy Agyapong on the streets of Kumasi.

On November 4, 2023, the New Patriotic Party will hold its elections in the hopes of choosing a candidate to represent the party in the general elections of 2024.

Meanwhile, Hon Kennedy Agyapong has sent a strong warning to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the November 4 presidential primaries.

Kennedy Agyapong speaking to some NPP faithfuls in the Ashanti Region said he is not like Alan Kyerematen who is so gentle.

According to him, he won’t keep quiet and allow the party to intimidate delegates to suppress their votes.

“I am not like Alan who is so gentle, let them try and they’ll see what will happen,” he said.

He claimed the NPP National Council have attacked Mr. Alan Kyerematen, Mr. Boakye Agyarko and him for raising the concerns of hooliganism in the party.

He added that he will put his life on the line to rescue Ghana from hands of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia for the sake of the youth.

He urged the thousands of NPP supporters to give him a chance to lead the party in the upcoming 2024 elections because he has better vision for Ghanaians.

He went on to outline some of the projects he’ll undertake to better the lives of the people in the Ashanti Region.
