At the Ghana Football Association (GFA) headquarters, a group calling itself the Ghana Football Stakeholders Forum plans to hold a protest.
According to a statement from the Ghana Police Service, the organization has been given permission to protest on October 4, 2023.
Before delivering a petition to the GFA and the Minister of Youth and Sports, the protesters will march to the GFA’s office in Accra.
“The Accra Regional Police Command acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 25th September, 2023 on the above subject matter,” a statement from the Police said.

“Pursuant to meeting held between you and the Police at the Regional Headquarters, Accra on 26th September, 2023 it was agreed that: You embark on your intended demonstration on 4th October, 2023 between the hours of 9am and 2pm.
“You shall present petition to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Minister of Youth and Sports. You shall ensure that there is no infiltration. The Police wish to assure you that it will provide you with the needed security coverage for your intended demonstration according to its mandate.”
This comes after the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest, which began on September 21, 2023, to coincide with Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day, a recognized national holiday.
The three-day demonstration, which came to an end on Saturday, was intended to raise awareness about corruption, economic hardship, and the need for political accountability.

However, the police prevented the protesters from holding a demonstration on Thursday, many of whom were also detained before being later released.
The Police later denied the claim, but there were also reports that some journalists covering the protest had been detained.
Ghanaians put pressure on athletes and celebrities on social media to join the call for higher living standards in the nation.
On the third day of the protest, some celebrities from the entertainment industry—including Stonebwoy, Pappy Kojo, and M.anifest—finally showed up.
Nunoo Sarpei and Awako, who could not attend, still voiced their support for the athletes on social media.
