Users of Twitter (X) have berated their favorite celebrities for not joining the “Occupy Julorbi House” protest.
While some well-known people have shown support for protesters and raised their voices in support of the problems in the world, others have chosen to remain silent, which has angered their supporters.
On September 21, the demonstration—organized by the advocacy group Democracy Hub—went ahead despite a Ghana Police order.
According to reports, police detained protesters and transported them by bus to the regional police headquarters in Accra.
Protesters have been sent to various police stations throughout the city after being divided into smaller groups. The media is unable to communicate with them.
Watch the Ghanaian celebrities during this period 😂🇬🇭.
They will rather do tap in for other countries during their protests. They will voice out for #endsars protests but will shut up on Ghanaian peaceful #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest#OccupyJulorbiHouse 💔🖤🇬🇭🤦🏾♀️ pic.twitter.com/SeAcNi1Mtx

You're a problem if after all this you pay for a ticket in December for these same artistes. They were yapping their mouths here during End Sars protest and yet their own country is going through practically the same and they've all turned a blind eye??!!!!#OccupyJulorbiHouse

In a related news, Bridget Otoo, a Ghanaian journalist, endured her fair share of roughhousing at the “Occupy Julorbi House” protest that was broken up by the police on September 21, 2023.
The well-known Metro TV Journalist was present when numerous protesters were detained and arrested at the police station.
Bridget was seen waiting and protesting the arrests with other media outside the Police Headquarters in a video that has been circulated online.
The gate was then locked as a group of men grabbed her and dragged her inside the police station.
Lawyers have been invited to visit the various stations in the meantime to assist with legal issues. A few attorneys have arrived and are currently providing legal support.
