Jann Wenner was born in New York City on January 7, 1946. He also grew up in a wealthy family and attended private schools. Wenner has said that he had a happy childhood, but he also struggled with dyslexia.
Wenner also dropped out of college in 1966 to start Rolling Stone magazine. He married Jane Schindelheim in 1969 and they also had three children together. They divorced in 1995.
In 1995, Wenner came out as gay. He married model Matt Nye in 2005, but they divorced in 2015. Wenner also has three children with Nye.
