Francis Asenso-Boakye, a member of parliament for Bantama and a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reacted to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong’s criticism of some of the properties he has amassed while holding public office.

The Minister for Works and Housing denies that Kennedy Agyapong’s friend is the owner of a property he owns in Adenta.

Mr. Asenso-Boakye claimed that none of the accusations made by his colleague MP were supported by even a trifle of evidence.

For instance, he denied a recent claim made by Ken Agyapong that Mr. Asenso-Boakye had lodged at Adenta with a friend.

“I bought that property at Adenta my own self,” he clarified on Kumasi-based Kessben FM on Tuesday, September 19.

“It was a property I was living in myself but the way he put it, it was as if I was cohabiting with his friend, in a way that was to embarrass me.

“It is not true it was my own property,” he stressed, disclosing how he used incomes from his work home and abroad to purchase the property.

“Even if I am living in the property with his friend, is this something you will insult somebody with?” he asked in Twi.

In his address to hundreds of supporters on Saturday, September 16 following his unity walk known as the “Showdown Unity Walk,” Mr. Agyapong took a shot at the Bantama MP for campaigning for votes for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, though he avoided mentioning his name.

In other news, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has said he is confident the opposition party will defeat the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to form the next government on January 7, 2025.

On Saturday, September 16, 2023, the former president made this statement in Accra at the NDC Greater Accra Regional Zongo Caucus Stakeholders Forum.

Mr. Mahama urged Ghanaians who just turned 18years and above and those who have lost their voter’s ID card to take advantage of the current ongoing limited voter registration across the country in order to be eligible to vote during the 2024 general elections.
