Hugh Jackman is an Australian actor, singer, and producer. He is best known for his portrayal of Wolverine in the X-Men film series. He has also starred in a number of other films, including “The Greatest Showman”, “Les Misérables”, and “Logan”.
Hugh Jackman was born on October 12, 1968, in Sydney, Australia. He is the son of Christopher John Jackman, a tax accountant, and Grace McNeil, a homemaker. He has one younger sister, Sonya.
Jackman attended Pymble Public School and Knox Grammar School in Sydney. He was a talented athlete and played rugby, cricket, and swimming. He also took part in drama productions at school.
Early Acting Career X-Star
After graduating from high school, Jackman attended the University of Technology Sydney, where he studied law. However, he dropped out after two years to pursue a career in acting.
Jackman’s first professional acting role was in the Australian soap opera “Number 96” in 1994. He then appeared in a number of other television shows and films, including the films “Paperback Hero” (1996) and “Hard Knocks” (1995).
In 1998, Jackman made his Broadway debut in the musical “Oklahoma!” He won a Tony Award for his performance. He then starred in the musical “The Boy from Oz”, for which he won another Tony Award.
