Popular Ghanaian choreographer Michael Amofa, also known as Incredible Zigi, has expressed his displeasure with how dancers are being treated by music awards schemes.
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM Daybreak Hits monitored by InsightNewsgh.com, Incredible Zigi said dancers need to be recognized by main stream awards organizers on the big platforms.
According to him, dancers are the ones who make musicians songs get global recognition and therefore must also receive the equal recognition during awards night like VGMA or 3Music awards.
“Most of these songs that are blowing and getting recognition in Ghana here, most of them are tailored by dancers. We spend much time on social media, we’re always posting to the songs. Is like the artists are sleeping somewhere and we’re blowing the songs. Dancers need to be recognized by main stream awards,” he said. Incredible Zigi added that music goes hand-in-hand with dancing.
