Aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Kennedy Ohene Agyapong claims he is the best candidate to be chosen as the party’s flagbearer.

He claimed that the top spot on the November primary ballot proves that God has appointed him to lead the dominant party into the general elections of 2024.

On September 13, 2023, he told the media that he believed that being drawn first on the ballot for the second time in a row was a clear sign from God that he should be given the responsibility of leading.

He said that anyone who believes in biblical wisdom can see this divine message.

“It is clear that I am the person God has chosen to lead the NPP. If you believe in the Bible… because everywhere I go, Kennedy Agyapong is number one. It is a clear indication that I should be given a chance to lead this country.”

He emphasized that he won the top spot in the election for super delegates and will again win it at the upcoming party congress.

He thinks that these events provide indisputable evidence of his presumptive presidential destiny.

“The signs are clearly on the wall that if you vote for Kennedy Agyapong, he will definitely lead this country and break the eight.”

On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, voters in Accra chose Kennedy Agyapong for the top spot, followed by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the second.

Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, a former minister of agriculture, chose the third spot, and Francis Addai Nimo, a former member of parliament for Mampong, chose the fourth.

In a related news, Ayawaso West Wougon Member of Parliament Lydia Alhassan Seyram jokingly accuses her contender National Democratic Congress’ John Dumelo as they clash at the Electoral Commission’s office in their bid to monitor the ongoing Limited voter registration exercise.
