Mike Williams (wide receiver) (May 18, 1987 – September 12, 2023) was an American football wide receiver who played for five seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Syracuse, and was also drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He also played for the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs. Williams died on September 12, 2023 in a car accident at the age of 36.

Early Life and Career
Mike Williams was born in Buffalo, New York. He attended South Park High School in Buffalo, also where he was a star football player. He was named to the All-Western New York first team as a senior.
Williams played college football at Syracuse University. He was a standout player for the Orange, leading the team in receiving yards in each of his three seasons. He was named to the All-Big East first team as a senior.
Williams was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played two seasons with the Buccaneers before being traded to the Buffalo Bills in 2012. Mike played two seasons with the Bills before being released in 2013. He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2014, but he was released after one season.
Professional Career
Williams’ NFL career was hampered by injuries. He missed the entire 2011 season due to a stress fracture in his foot. He also missed several games in other seasons due to various injuries.
Despite his injuries, Williams was a productive player when he was on the field. He caught 136 passes for 1,892 yards and 11 touchdowns in his five NFL seasons. He had a career-high 778 receiving yards in 2010.
Death
Williams died in a car accident in Tampa, Florida on September 12, 2023. He was 36 years old. He is survived by his wife and also two children.
