When lazy people want to lobby and pull other people down, others rise through dint of hard work – Koku Anyidoho praises IGP Dampare

Samuel Koku Anyidoho claims that after Dr. George Akuffo Dampare,, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), testified before the parliamentary special committee, it is clear why John Atta Mills, the vice president at the time, picked him to be his aide-de-camp.

After the IGP responded to questions from committee members in a way that most Ghanaians thought was impressive, the former deputy general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) took to X to praise him.

“Listening to IGP Dampare eloquently discuss his qualifications and remarkable journey within the police service, it becomes clear why Vice President Mills chose him as an aide-de-camp without any lobbying,” he wrote on X on Tuesday, September 12.

Anyidoho continued to reprimand Dampare’s accusers, declaring that they were using false accusations to hurt their boss out of self-serving motives.

“When lazy people who lobby & pull people down before getting to the top, see others rise through dint of hard work, sacrifices & merit, the lazy sods get very jealous & go vile with their evil fabricated stories. But God exalts His own. As a victim, I know what I am talking about,” he added.

COP In a leaked secretly recorded audio, Alex George Mensah and Superintendent George Asare were overheard discussing how to get rid of their boss, the IGP, in order to prevent the defeat of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the 2024 elections.

In order to persuade President Akufo-Addo to fire the IGP, they were looking to former Northern Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Bugri Naabu. It’s interesting that Bugri Naabu recorded the conversation and then leaked it; as a result, parliament is now looking into it.

COP Alex George Mensah accused Dampare of being the worst IGP Ghana has ever had and of mismanaging the Ghana Police Service, which has angered many officers, when he testified before the Atta Akyea-led committee appointed by parliament to investigate the footage’s content.

The IGP, meanwhile, denied all of the allegations, calling them fabrications with no basis intended to damage his reputation.
