The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has reportedly chosen to separate himself from decisions involving officers who were mentioned in a tape that was leaked outlining a plot to have him removed from office in a notable display of fairness and objectivity.

The IGP reportedly took this action to ensure impartiality and transparency in the ongoing investigations into the matter, according to dependable sources within the Ghana Police Service.

This development comes after the recent suspension of the interdiction of the officers who were seen on the tape that was leaked conversing with Bugri Naabu about how to unseat the IGP.

Public reactions to the decision to reinstate these officers have been varied, raising concerns about the objectivity of the investigation.

Interviews with important participants have been conducted by Parliament, including Commissioner Mr. George Alex Mensah, Superintendent Mr. Emmanuel Eric Gyebi, Superintendent Mr. George Lysander Asare, and Bugri Naabu, as part of the ongoing investigations.

These interactions have shed important light on the circumstances surrounding the tape that was leaked and the alleged IGP assassination plot.

The IGP has demonstrated his dedication to upholding the values of justice and fairness within the Ghana Police Service by choosing to recuse himself from these proceedings.

Dr. Dampare wants to make sure that all parties receive an objective evaluation of their conduct by stepping back from decisions involving the implicated officers.

Those who support the necessity of independent and open investigations, particularly in cases involving senior officers within the police service, have applauded the IGP’s decision.

It conveys the clear message that no one is exempt from responsibility and due process, regardless of their status.

The public eagerly awaits the conclusions of the investigations as well as the steps that will be taken in light of the evidence gathered.

The verdict in this case is likely to have far-reaching effects on both the integrity of the Ghana Police Service as a whole and the officers involved. Due to Dr. Dampare’s dedication to a fair and just process, justice will be served and the truth will be made public.
