The Central African Republic’s coach, Raoul Savoy, has predicted the Black Stars of Ghana’s fall at the upcoming African Cup of Nations.

Raoul Savoy claims that Ghana will run a similar campaign to what they did at the most recent AFCON in Cameroon.

After the Black Stars defeated his team to advance to the tournament, he told the media that Ghana wouldn’t fare any better.

The Black Stars had to come from behind to defeat Raoul Savoy’s tenacious team 2-1 because they left it late.

After Mohammed Kudus‘ free kick negated Louis Mfouta’s early goal, the hosts in Kumasi won thanks to a late goal from substitute Ernest Nuamah.

Although Thomas Partey, Daniel Amartey, and Mohammed Salisu are absent, Chris Hughton has selected a potent lineup for the match against the Wild Beasts.

The 67-year-old made the significant choice to remove captain Andre Ayew from the starting lineup, but he still selected a team that included both young players and seasoned pros.

With Alidu Seidu, Abdul Baba Rahman, Alexander Djiku, and Joseph Aidoo forming the back four, Lawrence Ati Zigi started in goal.

Jordan Ayew and Osman Bukari played on the right and left flanks, respectively, while Abdul Salis Samed and Elisha Owusu partnered in midfield.

Inaki Williams started as the team’s arrowhead in front of Antoine Semenyo, with Mohammed Kudus playing the no. 10 position as well.

Meanwhile, George Afriyie is no longer eligible to run for president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after being disqualified by the GFA Elections Committee.

After losing out four years prior, George Afriyie, a former vice president of the Ghana FA, was hoping to unseat Kurt Okraku, the current president of the GFA.

The football administrator, according to a statement from the Elections Committee, did not submit the necessary number of GFA members to support his candidacy.

The Committee claimed that he used Jeffrey Asare, who was unqualified, to sign his nomination paperwork, and it was later discovered that Asare wasn’t a Director at Victory Club Warriors FC as he had claimed.
