Prof. Osei Bobie, a political analyst, has claimed that Alan Kyeremanten is acting like a spoilt child.

This comes after Alan Kyeremanten declared he would no longer run to represent the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a press release, Alan stated that he made the choice as a result of the incidents that occurred during the super delegates elections on August 26, 2023.

In response to Alan’s decision to withdraw from the race, Prof. Osei Bobie stated that the former Trades Minister’s political action shows he lacks the qualifications necessary to participate in Ghanaian politics.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM monitored by InsightNewsgh.com, he said “He [Alan] is doing politics like a pampered child. In Ghanaian politics, if you study history, what hasn’t been said about J.J. Rawlings? Even when J.J. pleaded innocent of murderous crimes, we still blamed him, saying, ‘You were the leader in charge, and so you are guilty’, yet he made it. From the little I’ve learned, I’ll advise any politician seeking my advice to find a key message to rely on, and no matter the pressure, you will go through.”

“Over the years, Alan has employed offensive speakers as his campaigners. The character of his followers contradicts his peaceful character. Their utterances are contradictory, and it seems he is unable to control them. He’s either unaware of this reality or unable to control it, but as a leader, you must be able to control your followers. I do not wish to speak for any one candidate, but Bawumia addresses his followers directly and charges them to only employ peaceful measures. Hardly do you hear Alan addressing his followers,” Prof. Osei Bobie added.

The NPP has since expressed its sadness over Alan Kyeremanten‘s decision to withdraw from the 2024 flagbearer race.

The party claimed that it had regretfully taken note of the former minister of trade and industry’s statement regarding his decision to withdraw from the race.

In a statement, the party’s leadership acknowledged receiving Alan’s letter and stated that all of the issues he cited as justification for withdrawing from the race were being addressed.
