The actions and inept leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, according to NDC leader and 2024 flagbearer John Mahama, have completely eroded Ghana’s democratic goodwill.
He claimed that the level of political credibility is the lowest it has ever been in the Fourth Republic.
He wrote on Facebook that the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections are therefore essential for reviving confidence in Ghana’s constitutional democracy.
Mahama argued that the corruption and deteriorating conditions that occurred during the last nearly seven years under the poor leadership of Akufo-Addo and Bawumia needed to be addressed.
“I maintain that the poor leadership of Akufo-Addo and Bawumia must be held accountable for the corruption and deteriorating conditions under their watch over the last almost seven years,” Mahama said.
According to him, “We cannot ensure accountability with the same party and its officials who brought us to this tipping point still in charge.”
He assured the populace that the John Mahama administration would be distinct beginning on January 7, 2025, and promised visionary and selfless leadership as opposed to the NPP’s business as usual strategy.
