Cooper Kupp: Balancing Football Stardom with Family
Cooper Kupp, the Super Bowl MVP and Los Angeles Rams’ wide receiver, is undoubtedly a shining star on the football field. But when it comes to his personal life, the true MVP is his wife, Anna Kupp.
The couple’s journey began in high school, where they met in 2012. Cooper, a senior at Davis High School in Yakima, Washington, and Anna, from nearby Richland High School, struck up a romance. Their love story, which began at a high school track meet when Anna presented Cooper with a medal, has been nothing short of remarkable.
High School Sweethearts
Cooper and Anna’s love story started during their senior year of high school, and it was love at first sight. Cooper recalls telling his mom the very day they met, “I’m going to marry this girl.” Their relationship became long-distance when they headed off to separate colleges, Cooper to Eastern Washington University and Anna to the University of Arkansas.
Despite the miles between them, they couldn’t bear to be apart for long. They got engaged in March 2014, and by the fall of the same year, Anna had transferred to Eastern Washington University. Their love overcame the distance.
Supporting Each Other Through College
Anna played a pivotal role in Cooper’s journey through college football. While attending Eastern Washington University together, Anna worked full-time at a local restaurant to support them financially. Her dedication allowed Cooper to focus entirely on his football and studies.
Cooper acknowledges that his success, both in college and professionally, wouldn’t have been possible without Anna’s unwavering support and sacrifices. Her role in his life extended far beyond financial support; she inspired him and pushed him to achieve his best.
Marriage in 2015
Cooper and Anna sealed their love with marriage on June 20, 2015. Their wedding, held at Oakshire Estate & Airfield in Yakima, Washington, was a celebration of love and football. Cooper, in a touching gesture, wore his Eastern Washington football helmet after exchanging vows and carried his new bride down the aisle.
Their union at such a young age raised eyebrows, but for them, it was the perfect decision. They felt fortunate to have found each other so early in life.
Three Sons and a Furry Friend
Cooper and Anna’s love story expanded with the arrival of their three sons: Cooper Jameson (lovingly called “June”), Cypress Stellar, and Solas Reign. Their family grew, and with each addition, their bond deepened.
They also share their home with a fluffy pup named Elouise, affectionately known as Lo. The couple has cherished their four-legged family member since 2017, and Lo has been a part of their lives, making appearances on their Instagram accounts.
Anna’s Athletic Journey
Anna is no stranger to sports herself. In high school, she excelled in basketball, volleyball, track, and cross country. In college, she pursued heptathlon, a seven-event athletic competition that includes hurdles, high jump, shot put, sprints, long jump, javelin throw, and distance running.
Anna’s athleticism didn’t stop there. She joined Cooper in the weight room during their college days and even outperformed him in workouts, leaving him amazed.
Today, Anna continues to stay active by participating in a women’s basketball league alongside other NFL wives. Cooper takes on the role of operating the scoreboard, although there may be room for improvement in his basketball skills.
The Glue in Cooper’s Success
Cooper Kupp doesn’t hesitate to credit his wife, Anna, for his achievements, both on and off the field. She’s been a pillar of support, from helping him maintain a healthy diet and aiding in his recovery from injuries to caring for their children.
Cooper’s friend from high school, Austin Wagner, emphasizes Anna’s pivotal role in Cooper’s life, describing her as his rock. Anna’s high expectations and unwavering support have motivated Cooper to work harder and reach his goals.
In Cooper’s own words, “Without a doubt, there’s no doubt in my mind, not only would I not be here where I am today without her or accomplishing the things that I would be doing.” He believes that he might not have made it to the NFL if not for Anna’s inspiration and encouragement.
Cooper Kupp’s journey to football stardom is undeniably remarkable. However, it’s his enduring love story with Anna and their family’s growth that truly shines. Together, they have conquered challenges, celebrated successes, and remain a source of inspiration for many. Cooper’s success in football is not only a testament to his talent but also a reflection of the unwavering support he receives from the MVP of his life, Anna Kupp.
