Controversial Shatta Wale, a Ghanaian dancehall musician, has backed Fameye after the latter bemoaned the lack of support given to Ghanaian acts abroad.

Fameye admitted on the “Day Show with Berla Mundi” that he was disappointed with the poor attendance at his show that was held in the United Kingdom.

He attributed the phenomenon to the absence of support from Ghanaians living abroad.

In a tweet, Shatta Wale encouraged his followers to applaud Fameye and said that if he had made the same remarks as Fameye, he would have faced accusations of disliking his coworkers.

“Guys clap for @Fameye ????????????????????. If I talk p3 dem go talk say ,Ade hate my colleagues .. Over to you Travel and tour artiste !!” he posted.

In another post, he singled out a few “A list” performers, saying that if five of them had banded together to raise awareness of the issues, the industry would have advanced significantly.

On August 17, Shatta Wale posted a message congratulating Nigerian musician Asake on a successful performance at London’s O2 arena while making fun of his fellow musicians in the business for falling short of such heights.

Industry professionals reacted negatively to the post and claimed that Shatta Wale had undermined rather than upheld his colleagues.

Shatta Wale, the self-proclaimed king of dancehall, asserts that he is the only musician in Ghana to have demanded $100,000 per performance.

In an interview with Giovani Caleb that aired last night on Showbiz 360 on TV3, Shatta Wale made this statement. He claimed that he charged and received $100,000 in cash for performing three different shows each.

The performer disclosed that he received such a sum at the first Afronations festival, which was held in Ghana, and that he subsequently received another $120,000 for a performance at the ‘Wonderland’ venue.
