Gertrude Ankrah, daughter of the late Ghanaian army general and head of state, General Ankrah, expressed her strong disapproval of the Chale Wote Festival, describing it as Rubbish.
During an interview at the recently concluded Chale Wote Festival at Independence Square, Gertrude Ankrah criticized the event for promoting excessive drinking and inappropriate behavior.
“The youth are drinking and smoking, is that what you call Chale Wote? What is our youth doing? what is our president doing? what is Osu chief doing? has he come around to see what is going on? where is our kente and beads. Ghana we are blessed,” she fumed.
According to her, the chiefs in Ghana must directed to do the right. She added that she has been to the previous ones and nothing has changed.
“Young girls are getting and sex, is that what we call Chale Wote? she quizzed.

The “Chale Wote” Street Art Festival is a Ghanaian initiative that unites performance, dance, music, and visual art in public spaces.

In other news, the Headmaster of Academics at Nkwatia Presby Senior High School has been disciplined by the Ghana Education Service (GES) for allegedly assaulting and slapping a female student, leaving her partially blind.
The incident occurred when the student left campus with an exeat, but upon her return, the headmaster questioned her without giving her the opportunity to defend herself.
The student had been forced to kneel for a considerable amount of time by the headmaster prior to the assault. He got enraged and assaulted her after she complained that she wasn’t feeling well.
Ghanaians are outraged by the development, and many are calling for the Nkwatia Presby headmaster in question to be detained and prosecuted while others are pleading with the GES to give him the boot.
In a statement, the GES expressed its “disturbing” reaction to the social media video and its unequivocal condemnation of the Nkwatia Presby Assistant Headmaster’s behavior.
