The next phase of Alan Kyeremanten’s campaign to lead the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2024 general elections will soon be unveiled.

The former trade and industry minister announced that after his team has finished analyzing the results of the Super Delegates Elections held on Saturday, August 26, he will deliver a public broadcast within a week.

On Sunday, August 28, he urged his supporters to maintain their composure in a press release.

“I would however like to express my deep sorrow about the brutal assault on my polling agent in the North East Region. This is an indelible blot on the integrity of the internal democratic process within the NPP.”

“I wish my colleague a speedy recovery and God’s manifold blessings and would like to assure him and his family of my unwavering support for his well-being,” an excerpt of his release said.

Mr. Kyerematen also denounced the assault that took place during the exercise against his North-East Regional Coordinator.

He claimed that the action was unnecessary and unjustified because his representative had behaved properly at the voting location.

The incident, he continued, is a stain on the party’s internal democracy process.

In a related news, Kennedy Agyapong, a candidate for flagbearer, was reported to the NPP disciplinary committee as a result of his confrontational threats made on August 26 during the Super Delegate Conference.

When his agent was abruptly ejected from a polling place, Agyapong expressed his anger during the incident during the national conference.

In response to the alleged mistreatment of his agents, Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central, has been seen making stern threats against President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia.

Several people, including Raphael Patrick Sarfo, Charles Dokyi Yaw-Addo, Musa Sulemana, and Hopeson Yaovi Adorye, will be referred to the party’s Disciplinary Committee based on evidence, including videos and photos that suggest potential violations of the party’s constitution, according to a statement released by the NPP’s general secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, on Sunday.

The statement went on to emphasize that Kennedy Agyapong will also be called before the Disciplinary Committee under the aforementioned constitutional provisions to answer for the accusations and threats he made against particular people, as seen in a video that has gained popularity on social media and in mainstream media.

According to the most recent reports, the lawmaker actually said those things during a radio interview.
