The NPP special delegates congress has ended and the Electoral Commission has provided the certified results of the polls.

At the end of the voting, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has taken a huge leap into the top five with 629 votes out of the 937 total vote cast.

MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong amassed 132 votes while former Trade Minster, Alan Kyeremanten had 99 votes and Dr. Afriye Akoto claimed 32 votes.

Dr. Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Alan Kyerematen, and Owusu Afriyie Akoto emerging as the top four candidates.

However, the competition for the fifth slot is anticipated between Agyarko and Addai-Nimoah, adding to the suspense of the ongoing proceedings.

According to EC, the party would have to decided what to do next with regards to the tied results between Agyarko and Addai-Nimoah as to who should take the fifth position.

In a related news, flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Agyapong has vowed to deal with President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia following an issue that popped up in the ongoing special delegates congress.

This comes after Ken Agyapong lost his cool over alleged manhandling of his polling agent at the University of Cape Coast.

In the viral video sighted by InsightNewsgh.com on Twitter, Ken Agyapong who was looking very furious over the situation was heard threatening to bring down the president and the vice.

“President Akufo-Addo, I will give you a showdown, Vice President, I will give you a showdown for chasing my agent to go into hiding in a room. I swear to God, I’ll challenge President Akufo-Addo anytime,” he said.

Meanwhile in Kumasi, a member of the campaign team of Ken Agyapong brought up the issue of voter incentivizing.

Some delegates, according to Mr. Kwame Owusu, camped out at a hotel in Kumasi.

He steadfastly declined to give the name of the candidate who may have camped the aforementioned delegates.
