According to Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Akufo-Addo administration has greatly aided Ghana’s development.
Last Saturday, Dr. Bawumia spoke to supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Donkorkrom, Afram Plains North constituency: “I am always driven by public service, not the desire for personal gains.”
“It is the reason I am offering myself, first to be elected flagbearer of our party, and then I can offer myself to the people of Ghana so that I can continue to contribute towards the transformation of our country,” Dr Bawumia noted.
Dr. Bawumia claimed to have done a lot for Ghana during his time as vice president.
“I have not been president, but as vice president, I have worked so hard and contributed significantly to the development of our country through landmark policies I have initiated and spearheaded,” Dr. Bawumia said.
One Constituency-One Ambulance, the Agenda 111 hospital, the Digital Addressing System, the digitization of the ports, passport offices, and the DVLA, as well as the creation of the ghana.gov payment platform, the implementation of the money interoperability system, and the e-Pharmacy platform are a few of these policies.
Dr. Bawumia is competing against nine other candidates for the position of NPP flagbearer.
In order to reduce the number of candidates to five before the main primaries on November 4, 2023, the party will hold a super delegates conference on August 26, 2023.

Prince Henry, a ranking member of the NDC communications team revealed the NPP government hurried and squandered GH¢85 million on the mini-cars however they left them to rot away.
He said the cars are rusting.
