Justice won’t be done, according to the late investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale’sfamily,if Ken Agyapong, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) nominee for president of Ghana, wins the election.

The independent politician had earlier characterized Ahmed Suale as a bad person.

He claimed Suale’s own actions led to his demise.

Ken Agyapong said Suale was a bad man in a TV3 interview, adding that his support for the late journalist will not change because he wants to be President.

He said that his [Ahmed Suale] own actions—not mine—were what led to his death.

Kennedy Agyapong, according to the family in a statement, has consistently failed to express regret whenever Suale’s case is brought up for discussion.

It said: “By his lack of remorse and the frantic defence of his conduct, the family is doubtful that Ahmed would ever get justice under a misfortune where Kennedy Agyapong becomes the president of Ghana.”

The family added: “We are also disappointed that, to date, the Police have not made any progress on the matter. At minimum, we expect the Police to look into the crime of aiding and abetting, and threats of harm where there is plentiful of evidence, all of which was reported to them on a couple of occasions by Ahmed Suale.”

In the Greater Accra area on January 16, 2019, two unidentified men are accused of shooting Ahmed Hussein-Suale while he was driving close to the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Madina Estate.

Ahmed was a part of the Tiger Eye Private Investigations team that looked into the Number 12 corruption scandal at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), which resulted in Kwesi Nyantakyi‘s removal from office and a lifetime ban.

He also contributed to an investigation by the BBC into the sale of human body parts for ritual magic in Malawi.
