Jerry Kofi Hinson, managing director of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), has resigned from his position.
He resigned from his position due to health concerns.
Kofi Hinson handed in his letter of resignation to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, along with copies to the TOR board of directors and the energy minister.
In the letter, he explained that unanticipated health issues have prevented him from continuing in his position as managing director.
For the past 18 months, he said, it has been a privilege, an honor, and a pleasure to serve as managing director of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR).
He continued, “We have taken on the daunting task of identifying a suitable entity to partner with TOR to revamp its operations in a sustainable and profitable way. Working in partnership with the Board of Directors and Management.”
Despite being drawn out and difficult, the process has led to the choice of a potential partner who must now proceed through the various approval stages.
Former Executive Director of Minecom in charge of the oil and gas business unit was Jerry Kofi Hinson.
He started working there on March 2, 2022.
In other news, former Sanitation and Water Resources Minister Cecilia Dapaah’s lawyers have given the Multimedia Group three days to retract what they believe to be untrue reports about their client.
The attorneys claim in the aforementioned letter that Multimedia, via its JoyNews channel, misreported information regarding a petition submitted by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to the High Court, Financial Division.
They assert that despite the fact that no specific dollar amounts were mentioned in the Application, JoyNews published information about the allegedly found amounts while attributing these details to unnamed sources.
According to the attorneys, JoyNews published a number of stories on YouTube at around 2:00 p.m. on the same day with the titles “Joy News Prime Cecilia Dapaah Case: OSP tracks $5 million in total bank transactions over a period” and “JoyNews Today OSP finds $5 million and GH48 million in Cecilia Dapaah’s bank accounts.”
